Cheetham has now

resigned his post to take up appointment at Shanghai. I am prepared to recognize Reiss and Company as agents in Hongkong of Sanders Rehders provided that ?representatives ?likewise appointed agents for Canton under an agreement satisfactory to them. (?Perhaps it would be) advisable to remind Sanders that the new agent must have my approval and that I am prepared to deny to any one not so approved the facilities of the port including cables.
